Nightlife Guide to Swansea Stag Weekends
Jam packed with venues that’ll impress even the drunken you, Swansea offers a whole host of high energy nightclubs. If you’re looking for something low-key, then even better, there’s loads of classy bars, traditional boozers all within a short walk from each other. Easy to navigate and an abundance of choice, Swansea is a real party city.
Best Bars on Wind Street
Swansea hosts a range of bars both welcoming and entertaining. At no stage will you and the lads ever think you should have gone somewhere else!
First up it’s Slug & Lettuce which provides a fine balance between affordability and high quality. There’re colourful cocktails if that’s your thing or the real lad’s drink (AKA beer). Besides the drinks, there’s a pleasant and modern interior you can really feel at home in, spacious booths where the whole group can crash and the latest music.
The quirkier option is Lil London which is essentially a bar transformed from that world-renowned red London bus. Inside features one of the more unique VIP booths available in the whole of Swansea. Send the stag off into married life properly with this funky bar.
Other mentions to make your Swansea stag night as entertaining as can be are Griffin, Elixir, Coyote Ugly which are found throughout this party-heavy street.
The Wind St. Nightclubs
There’s just a mind-boggling amount of booze on this street chaps, believe us. Inside the many good clubs on this one street is an insane load of beer waiting for you. It’s a real gift from the boozy heavens. Wind Street really is a brilliantly named piece of road as in you literally will be blown away with the choice here!
The best nightclub along this superb drinking sector of Swansea is Fiction. Hosting top range equipment and huge dancefloor to make your night as amazing as possible, you really can have the night you’ve always wanted for your stag do. There’s even VIP booths available if you want to go all out and feel like a boss.
The Bambu Beach Bar is a bit on the exotic side due to its Tiki themed décor and really makes you feel like you’re beside the seaside, which is all good of course. It’s full of high energy and would be a fantastic recommendation of venue! There’s lots of entertainment to fill up your night ranging from live music, Latin nights and DJ sets. Bring the lads down for a pint of beer or dozens of liberating shots.
Pubs Along Wind Street
There definitely won’t come the point in the night where the lads will be struggling to choose a pub to visit in Swansea. There’s a huge mix of modern pubs as well as the more traditional boozers where there’s an even greater mix of ales, ciders and spirits.
The newly renovated Pump House retains its historical character on the waterfront of Swansea and guarantees a class night out on the stag party. There’re real ales, delicious meals and a welcoming vibe but is recommended for a more laid-back night with the guys.
Another choice is the No Sign Wine Bar, which contrary to the name, sells more than just wine! Yeah, there’s wine but beyond that, there’s loads of real ales and live music from top-notch bands. Oh, and it’s a 300-year-old pub which adds a really unique atmosphere to the night.
Reasons to Visit
Welsh Know How to Party
It’s just a longstanding fact, and Swansea’s epic nightlife is a shining example of how Wales knows how to throw a great night out, especially if it’s for something special like a stag party.
Seaside Celebrations
When you head to any coast, you immediately feel those holiday vibes. The Southern coast of Wales is a great way to feel like you’re having a trip away without spending the big bucks.
Cheap as Chips
Unlike a lot of the major cities, you can enjoy a banging stag weekend without coming back with empty pockets. That’s a win-win in our eyes!
Swansea City FC
The first Welsh club to get to the Premier League, Swansea City is a foot club that holds its own and it’s grounds are pretty impressive too.
Swansea Bay
A beach holiday with (hopefully) some British sun is always a great way to spend your days on the weekend, hungover or not. Swansea Bay accommodates for all your beach relaxation!
Unique Stag Activities
Being right by the seaside means a lot of cool water sports to try on the stag do like kayaking, but there’s plenty of land-based fun to be had on a stag do in Swansea.
More Things to Do
If you need to take some time out away from the busy city centre, then you can chill out, relax and take in the unbelievable sea views from Mumbles Pier, a Victorian quay as you look out over the stunningly beautiful Swansea Bay. Maybe you fancy splashing the cash a bit before the big day? If so, you could always shop ‘til you drop at The Quadrant Shopping Centre! Situated in the heart of Swansea, this reasonably sized centre has all the high street stores and fashion brands you could possibly ask for… all under one roof!
Alternatively, you could always take the more scenic tour and discover what bars, restaurants and pubs this city has to offer by taking a visit to the bustling Wind Street – Packed from top to bottom with plenty of establishments. A fantastic street that will definitely have something that you’re looking for, the road also leads conveniently onto Castle Road, where you will find Swansea Castle and Castle Square, which are also great places to explore.
Getting Around Swansea
Luckily enough, it’s relatively cheap to make your way around coastal Swansea. The transport links are impressive, and all types are present. So, if you decide to walk it all, hire an uber or catch a bus- it’s all available.
The best way is to use your feet, not because we’re calling you lazy but due to the fact Swansea’s city centre is actually pretty compact which is a huge bonus. Not only are you saving pennies but it’s less of a headache to find everything. A taxi is a good shout if you’re in and out of the city with outdoors activities like Quad Biking that may be more in the surrounding areas and they’re surprisingly cheap.
The train station provides services to the rest of the South Wales as well as operating direct links to London Paddington, Cardiff Central, Birmingham New Street, Manchester Piccadilly and Nottingham. Safe to say that wherever you live, Swansea isn’t too difficult to get to!
