Places to Eat in Salou

Although it’s a quieter Spanish destination for groups, there’s plenty of places to eat in Salou that cover a variety of cuisines. From classic tapas to British dishes, fast food and fine dining – there’s something to satisfy all taste buds. If you’re on the hunt for some traditional Spanish food, try Petit Bar in central Salou. Just like it says on the tin, this café is small but packs a punch with flavour and huge portion sizes to fill even the hungriest bellies. Spanish cuisine isn’t to everyone tastes, and luckily Salou caters for all. You can easily find both American and British cuisine dotted around the coastal municipality for a familiar bite to eat. One popular American diner is Route 66, which features classic hamburger dishes, chicken dishes and even some more adventurous choices like fresh seafood with chips. For meals that you can’t go wrong with like steak, pie and fries, British-style Olivers Restaurant is the best spot for you and the lads to fuel up before the last night of freedom.

If you really want to dip into traditional foods, Salou has a couple of different dishes you can try and instantly feel like a local. Obviously, tapas is a nationwide tradition for Spain, but also well-loved all over the world too. Another is the Sala Garage, here you will find plenty of live bands playing throughout the week so keep an eye out on the different live music acts you’ll see.

Sometimes the best way to start the night out is with some live sports right? Head to The Red Lion Sports. A venue where you can see all the biggest and best sports games live, enjoy a bite to eat and of course drink until the early hours of the morning.

From pubs to bars, to make the transition a smooth process head to Danny Boy, an Irish bar that has plenty of craic with it. For some live sports try out Shooters Sports Bar. Open until the early hours of the morning you and the lads will find plenty to keep you busy here from the sports, the bar snacks and the drinks.

Clubs

There is no way that you can end the night out without a trip to a nightclub. Luckily there are so many amazing ones available you will be spoilt for choice. First up is Pacha, just outside of Salou but definitely worth the visit as it’s the biggest Pacha in the world! Enjoying a night out here will be memorable and like no other place you’ve been before. Another nightclub that is in the centre of Salou is Kiss. A club that plays a variety of amazing music from all the best artists and DJ’s around.

Another great place to head if you want to enjoy Salou’s flagship disco since the 1960s is Flashback nightclub. In Flashback there are a variety of amazing shows and events that they have running throughout the year. Make sure you keep an eye out on all that is on during your weekend.

How to Get Around Salou?

A weekend in Salou is easily accessible by the Reus Airport, but what’s the best way to get around once you’re here? Lucky for you, the centre of this Spanish location is pretty small, meaning you can see a lot of the points of interest on foot. This way you can go from different landmarks and find all the small but still interesting places in between too. Salou also offers a tourist train with two routes if you want to sit and enjoy the sights. Plana bus company runs bus transportation around Salou, and you can pay per trip or under 10 euros for 10 trips to save a few pennies while you get around!

For late night transport after the night out, the white taxi’s that dart around Salou might be your best port of call. The taxi system is simple and cheap to use, with green lights for free taxi’s and different taxi stops around the centre and coastline.
