Places to Eat in Exeter

Whatever your plans end up being during the weekend in Exeter you want to make sure that you have some tasty food added into the celebrations right? Throughout Exeter there are plenty of restaurants, bars and pubs that serve up some incredible food for you and the lads. Whatever you are fancying you will be able to easily find somewhere to suit you all. The first place being HUBBOX, a place where you can enjoy some American inspired street food. With burgers, hot dogs, amazing fires and craft beers.

Another great place just up from Exeter Cathedral is Sabatni Restaurant. Serving up a variety of amazing modern British dishes every day with some amazing wines, coffees and a great place to enjoy a catch up with the lads in between all your antics. For some mouth-watering fried chicken head to Absurd Bird. A restaurant that can meet all your fried chicken needs with burgers, waffles, buckets and so much more! The lads will definitely find something to enjoy here.

And for some sophisticated dining with a view why not try out On The Waterfront. A quayside restaurant and pub that is an extremely popular place to eat. Especially when the weather’s nice as you can sit right on the waterfront outside and enjoy the view, good food and even better weather.

Pubs

Whatever type of night out you are after a trip to a pub is always a great way to start it. And there are so many great ones to choose from. First up is The Old Firehouse, a pub that’s known for its amazing selection of ale and cider. Another that is similar with a great atmosphere and the perfect place to get all the lads in the mood to head out drinking is Black Horse.  For a small pub with your your classic drinks inside along with a pool table and a TV showing sports games head to Hole In The Wall.

Another great pub to try out is Samuel Jones, sitting nicely on the waterfront you can enjoy some amazing drinks and views in this extremely popular alehouse. And if you don’t mind heading slightly out of the centre of Exeter we would recommend visiting Double Locks. An amazing pub that is perfect for during the summer months or even during the winter.

Bars

Make your way over from the pubs and head to some city centre bars like Bootleggers, a prohibition style bar that has excellent cocktails to live bands and DJ’s throughout the weekends. It’s the perfect place for a group of lads who want a lowkey start to the evening with good drinks. A unique bar that you have to book an appointment to ensure you can get inside is Doctor Inks Curiosities.

We would highly recommend heading to The Monkey Suit during the night out if you want to enjoy a relaxed and modern bar with a retro games room inside! They also have different live music throughout the week too! A bar that is considered a hidden gem of Exeter is Crocketts. With a wide selection of drinks and amazing mixologists behind the bar you and the lads can enjoy some amazing drinks during the evening.

Clubs

The night out can’t end without a trip to a club right? And there are plenty to choose from during your night out in Exeter. All of the clubs are in close proximity to the city centre which means you will never be far from one to end your night in. First up is Timepiece Nightclub. An extremely popular place to head if you want to dance the night away, enjoy some good music and amazing drinks. This nightclub has been going for over 25 years so we’re pretty sure it knows how to provide an epic night.

Another amazing place that will be great for the night out is Unit 1. A venue that has different events throughout the week and a great atmosphere that locals and visitors all love. With a great range of music, drinks and a place that welcomes everyone and anyone who wants to have some fun.

Exeter has an extremely historic Cathedral which dates back well over 900 years. And it sits nicely right in the centre of the city.

Getting Around Exeter

The good thing about Exeter is that it is extremely easy to get around. Especially during the weekend, everything you need is a short walk away from each other. As well as taxis there is a nightbus that goes through the city and is a great option for when you are ready to head out for the night out.
