How Does the Smartphone Urban Treasure Hunt in Edinburgh Run?

Split your staff into little groups for some friendly competition as adventurers around Edinburgh! Using a GPS linked app, your smartphone urban treasure hunt is based around answering trivia, completing creative challenges and unlocking hotspots. Work together to gain points and also collect bonus points through virtual scavenger items. As you’re exploring, keep tabs on the others groups through a live scoreboard on the interactive app! Come together at the end of the experience to see whose garnered to most points to be crowned the winning squad.

Add a facilitator for an additional cost who will provide a remote briefing via video link plus support throughout the activity. Our event staff will presentation / wrap up the activity showcasing the best photos and videos taken by the participants throughout the event again via remote video link.

What’s Included

  • During the event, your group will be put into smaller teams of 4 - 6 participants
  • Teams will compete against each other to foster a bit of healthy competition
  • Using interactive app technology
  • Unlock GPS hotspots on the interactive map
  • Complete, self-run event
  • Create selfies and squad names
  • Unlock creative challenges, clues, puzzles, and tasks
  • Photo and video challenges
  • Live scoreboard, tracker map, image recognition and GPS activation
  • Everyone uses their own smartphone to download the app to participate
  • Duration: approximately 2 hours
  • Groups sizes from 6 to 250 people
  • Add Custom Questions - Add up to 8 multiple choice questions. These can be about your brand, business, share fun facts, anything really - ask for price
  • Add Remote Host - Add a facilitator to give a remote briefing, support during the event and final wrap-up via video link - ask for price

The event was great but the weather was terrible! Can’t plan for that in Scotland though. Overall very enjoyable and with some little changes (and the weather haha) it would be fantastic!

We all had a great time, found the App easy to use and with having eight teams we were always crossing paths and that added to the fun of the hunt. There was a good mix of questions and activities - we had 40 people taking part and have not received any negative comments! At Funktion we mostly dealt with Denischa Shone who was very helpful and always happy to take our call.
