Despite being tucked away from Scotland’s bigger cities such as Edinburgh and Glasgow, there isn’t a shortage of transport options when it comes to travelling to-and-from the city. Aberdeen International Airport connects the city to the rest of Europe and beyond, and it’s centrally located train station links Aberdeen with the rest of the UK.

Reasons to Visit

Victorian Architecture – A prominent feature in Aberdeen’s central buildings, the use of granite gave the city the nickname “The Silver City”. Throughout the city you will notice these impressive buildings as soon as you set foot in the city centre.

The Annual Aberdeen Festivals – From the May Festival to the Jazz Festival, these are just a couple of examples of live events that go on across the city throughout the year, so if you’re fortunate enough to be visiting whilst they’re on, it’s definitely worth checking out. Outside of the festivals, there is also a huge live music scene in the city’s pubs, clubs and live venues.

Getting Around Aberdeen

If you don’t fancy walking and need to get around Aberdeen quickly, there are a number of taxi ranks dotted around the city. In the centre, there are multiple taxi ranks on Chapel Street and Back Wynd, just off Union Street.

There is also one right outside the train station, so if you’re looking to pre-book your taxi once your event dates are sorted, you can hope right into your cab as soon as you arrive if you’re travelling by train.
